Ball Bearings Social Media

As the Social Media Editor, one of my goals is to create a unified social media experience. Creating consistency and branding our graphics is a big part of making Ball Bearings a recognizable publication on campus. Our social media was awarded an honorable mention at the Associate Collegiate Press Pacemaker Awards for Best Use of Social Media: Promotion.

The posts below are a preview of our Instagram feed. Our focus was on creating a highly visual, yet cohesive feed that was instantly recognizable students. Within student media at Ball State, there is a large need to stand out among other news organizations, and our unique identity and freedom as a magazine is highlighted in these designs.

This is an example of an immersive post type that we began using to promote our print stories. By utilizing Instagram's carousel feature, we were able to tell complete stories and capture readers.
